OK, perfect. Can you go stand in the kitchen? or the bedroom, or any room but the living room. Just for 1 minute

[that is. incredibly suspicious. but! they trust Casey not to singlehandedly destroy their home in under a minute's time.]

Yes, I'm in the bedroom now. I suppose just let me know when I am allowed to leave.

No worries, you'll hear us.

[And that's the only warning Rue will get before a big blue portal manifests itself in the middle of their living room, and an equally big rectangle box is shoved through, taking up almost half the length of the room. Casey follows behind with a smaller box full of tools and wound-up cables, then Leo takes up the rear.]

Uh, wow. I hope it's not too big. Rue, we're here!

[He grins as he easily carries the tv in, portal closing behind Casey once they're all through.]

Naaaaah, I think it'll be fine!

[Oh! That was faster than expected!

Rue does not leave the boys waiting for long, immediately following after their voices.]

Leo? You are here too?

[But they step back into the living room and immediately reel back at the sheer size of the box taking up their space.]

What is all of this?

[Casey sets the smaller box down and takes one side of the big one, helping to position it against a wall so they can just dismantle the box with it in place.]

It's a TV! Is this an okay place for it, or do you want it somewhere else?

[Rue stands there just at the edge of the living room, their feathery head swiveling from Casey to Leo to the most enormous television they have ever seen. Give them just a little moment, this is a lot to process.]

I do not understand. This - this is for me?

[Casey glances over his shoulder at them, questioning.]

Y...es? I figured you'd get the most use out of it... we usually come over here to watch stuff, but the relic screen is so tiny. Do you want it?

[Oh god don't make him take it back, it's so unwieldy and it'll never fit in his apartment-]

[Leo would definitely find a way to mount it somewhere if Rue doesn't want it, but he really hopes they do.]

It's the least we can do, you give so much to us. Figured you'd wanna watch stuff without having to squint down, y'know? Anyway I'm not takin' it back out, it lives here now.

[Rue's beak trembles before they are crossing the distance between them and the two teens and swiftly using their long wingspan to drag them both in for careful, but brief hugs. There will be more hugs after they set their new television up!

They step away, just to not be too in the way of this whole ordeal. The last thing they want to is to add giant owlbear into the whole figuring out where this thing is going.]

I can hardly believe this is all mine. You boys, you are so good to me, I do not know what I ever did to deserve either of you. Oh, I am trembling with excitement! Mm, I think, yes, right there against the wall - here, I can move that table.

[This might take a little wiggling around and rearranging, but they will make it work!!]

[Casey exhales a chuckle, relieved and happy to return the hug, brief as it is. Once they separate he fishes a knife from the box and starts cutting the box's edges, so they can free the TV and access all the cords and connections. It'll take a bit of work to hook things up, but with Rue looking so happy, it's worth it.]

Pretty sure either of us could make a whole list of what you did to deserve it. It really is the least we can do like sensei said.

Heck, I can make a list right now if you want.

[The hug is ALWAYS appreciated, even if Rue is trying to be gentle about it.

But plugging everything in is easy when he can just portal to look directly at the back of the tv. And then underneath it. And everywhere else. He's happy to do this much.]

I bet if you asked Donnie, he could hook you up with all sorts of channels you normally couldn't.

I will have to ask him posthaste.

[Unlimited channels!! The power that Rue could wield!]

Do not dare! I will concede this once, but again, thank you both from the very bottom of my heart. I am so touched by this gift. Even back in Gloucester, I never saw a television of this size! I will be able to see every detail of every outfit in perfect definition.

[What a gift to their neck and their eyes to no longer hunch and squint!]

And once everything is in place, you all must come over for a movie night. If I have a screen of this size, we must make good use of it.

[He'd have come over for a movie night whether it was a big TV or not. But this will admittedly make it much easier to do a group thing, instead of the one-on-one cuddles in front of the relic. Not that he would object to more close cuddling still happening, either...

He gets the sides sliced easily, but when he tries to lift the box up and away from the TV, he... cannot. It gets stuck at the top and he can't reach it.]

Uhh. Can I get a hand please?

[Or a lift up. Please, he's so small and this TV is enormous.]

Oh- yeah.

[Leo gets one hand still on the tv, the other swiping a portal real quick for Casey to reach through like it's nothing.]

Anyway yeah we're definitely gonna come over for group nights. You'll get sick of us by the time you finish Jupiter Jim.

Hardly!

[Rue stands there watching, paws clasped in front of them, looking from Leo to Casey to Leo's portals to the pile of cords to the television again - it is so much!]

Am I able to help? You only need to tell me what to do.

[Somehow forgot Leo could do that thirty seconds after walking through a portal- but yay, crisis averted. The box comes down to reveal the beautiful gigantic screen in all its HD glory, already plugged in thanks to Leo.

Casey grabs the box and starts rifling through cables.]

Can we have your relic? I need to figure out how to connect them. Might be easy, might take a while. Uh... there's not much else to do besides getting rid of the box. Leo?

Far as I know. [He gives a shrug. Donnie would know for sure and they'll probably call him later. But just setting this up should be fine for now.]

Can't think of anything else to set this up. Unless you had some storage or something I could load movies onto for you.

[Leo, do you see the lost look in their eyes? Yeah. That's faaaaar beyond Rue's capabilities.

But handing over their relic is more than easy enough. Rue fetches it and waits until Casey has a free hand before passing it over.]

Well, if I can not help out in this, at the very least, I can bring you both something to drink after all of this hard work. What would you like?

We can probably get an external later. But the relic kind of has infinite stuff on it, so that's good for today.

[Casey accepts the relic and sets it down on the floor beside him, starting to piece some of the cables together. It should technically be fine to just plug it in directly, but his goal is to make something Rue can just connect and have it work immediately, which is going to take a little more work. He's determined, though! And while he may not be as tech savvy as Donnie (who is, honestly) this is more his element.]

Just some water's enough for me. Sensei, can you see the remote anywhere?

I'm good- [Said at the same time as Casey asking for water. But he looks around and-

Yep there it is.] Got it just - one sec - [he's trying to reach it with his toes give him a second, it's just on the arm of the couch so ...so close.]

[Oh! Oh!

Rue sees Leo stretching for that remote with his toes, but they can just grab it and hand it to him instead with very minimal effort. There! They helped!]

Here, darling. I'll be right back with your water then, Casey. Please, just call if there's anything else I can do, but I shall leave this in both of your capable hands.
